{"id":92,"date":"2023-07-12T20:55:39","date_gmt":"2023-07-12T20:55:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.selas.us\/FOTAS2024\/?page_id=92"},"modified":"2024-05-28T19:50:11","modified_gmt":"2024-05-28T19:50:11","slug":"betta-convention","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.selas.us\/FOTAS2024\/event\/betta-convention\/","title":{"rendered":"Betta Convention"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-image animated slideInUp\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"512\" height=\"341\" src=\"https:\/\/www.selas.us\/FOTAS2024\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Lucas_Rounded.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1429\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.selas.us\/FOTAS2024\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Lucas_Rounded.png 512w, https:\/\/www.selas.us\/FOTAS2024\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Lucas_Rounded-300x200.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 512px) 100vw, 512px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"animated slideInUp\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fotas.info\/clubs\/oklahoma-betta-breeders-association\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Oklahoma Betta Breeders Association (OBBA)<\/a> is proud to host the Annual Convention of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ibcbettas.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">International Betta Congress<\/a> (IBC) in conjunction with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fotas.info\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Federation of Texas Aquarium Societies (FOTAS)<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"animated fadeInUp\">An IBC Show is an International Betta Show with about 100 classes ranging from self-bred Bettas in two groupings to pet Bettas and even includes Betta Artwork made from the entrants.&nbsp; The cost to enter is $3 for each entry if you are an IBC member or join the IBC during the show, otherwise the cost is $6 per entry.&nbsp; Awards vary from ribbons for the first through third and best of varieties to plaques for the best of shows.&nbsp; At this show, you will see the best of the best when it comes to Bettas and might even see some of the wild species Bettas also on display.&nbsp; Betta shows are a lot of fun and you might be interested to see what actually goes into judging a Betta show.&nbsp; This is going to be the last show for the season so there are more points awarded so there should be a few hundred Bettas on display.&nbsp; We hope to see you there at our Betta Show!
